Restarting your compressed air equipment

What To Do

Where possible and only when equipment is isolated from all power sources, check free rotation by hand

Restore power to the equipment following LOTO procedures

Remove all isolations that have been placed and close manual condensate drains

Make sure that all auxiliary equipment such as water pumps are running and all auxiliary supplies are restored (e.g. instrument air)

Follow all start-up guidelines as detailed in the O&M / User manual

Check all temperatures and pressures

Make sure that any overdue maintenance is performed as soon as possible to prevent unscheduled outages & to maintain any warranties

What Not To Do

Do not try to start equipment which has been isolated

Do not start any equipment without first ensuring all auxiliary supplies (water, instrument air, etc.) have been safely restored

Do not rely on non-return valves to isolate from any pressurized systems
